Do I Belong? (Poem)

Is being good a bad thing?
    To love and to expect a sad thing?
Choices we make, make who we are
    No change, changes who we are..

 Desperation the cause, Patience the key,
    Poles apart the roads, which one's for me
Smile can I do, Laugh can I show
    What's wrong with me? Why can't I just let go

 Know I do, holding on is futile
    Price I have to pay, leave all for a while
Strength I need, for peace I long
    Striving for patience, to know... I still belong
